Krytox GPL 217 Grease

Krytox GPL217 is a black, highly viscous PFPE grease with a PTFE thickener and added molybdenum disulfide (MOS2) for extreme pressure (EP) applications.

The Krytox GPL217 is extremely suitable for extreme pressure (EP) applications with highly loaded gears and bearings.

Krytox GPL 217 heavy-duty grease is used for high loading or slow speeds. EP greases have high load-carrying capability and good lubrication characteristics under boundary and mixed friction conditions. In addition to the EP additive in Krytox GPL 217 heavy-duty grease, Krytox oil provides adequate EP protection as an oil by itself, due to the viscosity build under load and its unique tribochemistry.

Krytox is commonly used in both the automotive and industrial markets in a wide range of end applications. Krytox GPL217 has a high base oil viscosity of 450 centistokes at 40 ° C and is suitable for use in applications up to 288 ° C (550 ° F).

Krytox GPL217 has the average molecular weight of the PFPE base oil and exhibits similar chemical properties to the base oil for which it is produced (GPL107).
One of the greatest advantages of using Krytox lubricants is stability in a wide variety of operating conditions and environments. This inert nature is what allows Krytox oils and greases to outlast and outperform competing hydrocarbon products.
