Kluber Summit R 100 Description

Kluber Summit R 100 lubricants are based on polyalphaolefins. No paraffin is contained in the formulation of this lubricant.

However, we cannot rule out the possibility that the lubricant contains traces of paraffin. Depending on the application, we recommend consulting with us. They offer good cold flow properties.

They contain base oils of high chemical stability and show a low tendency to evaporation. Kluber Summit R 100 lubricants are miscible with mineral oils.

Kluber Summit R 100 comply with the requirements set forth in DIN 51 503-1, KAA (08.97). Kluber Summit R 100 oils are NSF H1 registered and therefore comply with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570.

The lubricants were developed for incidental contact with products and packaging materials in the food-processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical or animal feed industries. The use of Kluber Summit R 100 oils can contribute to increase reliability of your production processes.

We nevertheless recommend conducting an additional risk analysis, e.g. HACCP. These lubricants can be used for refrigeration compressors in the food-processing industry.

Kluber Summit R 100 - Application

Klüber Summit R series lubricants are specifically designed for use in highly loaded screw-type and reciprocating piston compressors that operate with ammonia (R717) or CO2 (R744).

These lubricants are also suitable for use with natural hydrocarbon refrigerants such as propane (R290), propylene (R1270), or butane (R600). However, it's essential to consider the solubility of the gas in the oil under operating conditions and the resulting drop in viscosity when using these refrigerants. Thanks to the synthetic base oil used in Kluber Summit R 100  lubricants, the carryover of oil the refrigeration cycle is significantly lower compared to conventional mineral oils, leading to reduced oil consumption.

The viscosity of these oils remains stable for an extended period because they contain only a few highly volatile components. As a result, the intervals between oil changes due to viscosity increase can be considerably extended.

The base oil offers high chemical stability, particularly when exposed to ammonia, preventing typical issues like blackening in conventional mineral oils or deposits in the refrigeration cycle.

Drain old oil whole circuit of the refrigeration compressor while still warm. We recommend changing all oil filters and separators and draining the oil catches of the refrigeration cycle completely. Then recharge compressor with the operational Klüber Summit R series lubricant.
